She makes buckets and spades and curtains with braid.

Hazel Hedghog lives under the hawthorn tree in the toadstool house. She likes to sit quietly and mend things for the other animals of the singing woods. She uses her spines as needles and pins and hums to herself as she works.

Baxter Bluetit is a quiet little bird. He lives in a hole in the old beech tree in the singing woods and likes to chirrup songs to himself while digging in the garden.

Sylvester lives in the fairythorn tree at the top of the singing woods. His coat is as red as the berries on the tree. He is wild and mischievous and loves to hide in the rustling leaves and jump out to surprise his friends.
